What MCP is
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI agents call tools from external servers. Run Pilots is an MCP client for your flights and an MCP server for agents that want to operate Run Pilots itself.
Connecting a server
Open Dashboard → MCP tools. Browse the global catalog or add a private server by URL. Supported transports: Streamable HTTP, SSE and (admin-approved) local stdio. Authentication supports none, API key, bearer token and OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration.
Collections
A collection is a named allowlist of server tools. Create personal collections, or flight collections that exist only for one flight. Deny rules win over allow rules.
Approvals per tool
Each tool binding carries a policy: auto (safe reads), notify (safe writes) or require (posts, payments, deletions). Require-policy tools pause the run and wait for you.
